Max Neptune and the Menacing Squid
This is a trailer for a live action film that I am co-directing and producing the visual effects for. The film combines sets with green screen, various location shots, and a ton of compositing, all of which is achieved using Adobe After-Effects. The digital elements of the film are being created using 3D Studio Max, and through the process of green screen, rotoscoping, and plain old alpha channeling, they are combined into our live action scenes. We hope to have the film completed by the summer of 2008.
Demo Montage
This is a short one minute montage of my various animated and live action work. The work ranges from traditional animation, to 3D animation, and visual effects.
Probe Weight Test
This is one of my first tests for a character I created using 3D Studio Max. Its your typical box test. This is just one in a short series of animation tests I did to test the rig I created for this character. All the animation and rendering was done using 3D Studio Max, the rendered elements were composited in After Effects.
Probe Dialog Test
This is a short test I did in order to test Probe's facial rigging for animation. It's a little on the stiff side, but for an early test, it does the job.
Gecko
This is my 4th year film I created at Cal Arts. Its a combination of traditional and 3D animation. I created the animation the good ol' fashioned way using paper and pencil. The finished animation was scanned and painted using Photoshop. The elements for the backgrounds were created using water color paintings which I scanned and assembled in the computer using either After Effects, 3D Studio Max, or a combination of the two. The completed composition for each shot was composed in After Effects.
Bunny Pop
I made this film during the first CalArts character animation 48 hour film challenge. The challenge worked like this; One participant picked a word out of a hat, the word that he/she picked became the subject that everyone has to create a one minute film about. Each participant had 48 hours to complete their film. Oh, and the selected word was "lollypop"
